Sanchi and Saru-Maru

This Book is about, When Bindusara’s son Ashoka was appointed as the governor of Ujjain, Pataliputra and Ujjain’s important stopover Besnagar were associated with Prince Ashoka and later with Shresthi’s daughter Devi and later Kakanadbot hill is glorified till date with the remains of Buddha as well as the remains of Sariputra, Mahamodgalyana, Kodini, Kodinputra, Gotiputra, Majjhim, Kakanav, Bhanduk, Subhit, Vachi Suvijayat, Mogaliputta, Vachiputra, which have been illuminating the entire region with the torch of Sanchi peace for the last 2300 years. Many kingdoms have come and gone but the remains are still protected by the stupas. The 2500-year-old remains of Sariputra and Mahamodgalyana, which are on display at the Sanchi fair, have been kept safe by these stupas in the Sanchi complex for the last 2300 years. The presence of 24 stupas in the state emblem of Madhya Pradesh has further brought the stupas of Sanchi to life.
